The Office of the Registrar of Aboriginal Corporations (ORAC)
This evaluation involved Social Compass developing and implementing an Impact Assessment Model for the Certificate IV in Business (Governance) Training Pilot Program (QLD). The aim of the impact assessment was to demonstrate the social, cultural, environmental and economic impacts that the Training Pilot Program has had on program graduates and on the boards/governing committees and/or corporations that graduates represent. Dimensions of social capital and individual and organisational capacity building outcomes were captured in the evaluation.
The evaluation was based on a qualitative approach that involved a series of focus groups and interviews with directors and board members of Aboriginal Corporations. The impact assessment will inform future policy and training practices for Aboriginal corporations.
